  • CXCL2 molecular target review

Human growth-regulated oncogene β (GRO-β), also known as CXCL2, is a member of the CXC protein chemokine family. GRO-β is also known as MIP-2 in mice and CINC-3 in rats. Human GRO-β is composed of 107 amino acids (aa) and has a molecular weight of approximately 11 kDa. GRO-β is secreted by a variety of cells (including monocytes and macrophages) at the site of inflammation and has a chemotactic effect on granulocytes including neutrophils. GRO-β plays an important role in the inflammatory response and injury repair process. Studies have gradually found that GRO is a proto-oncogene. As an expression product, GRO-β plays a key role in angiogenesis, tumor formation and metastasis, and the interaction between tumors and immune cells.
