CCN2 molecular target information overview
CCN2 molecular target review
Connective tissue growth factor (CTGF) is a cytoskeletal protein in the CNN family. The extracellular portion of CTGF includes four conserved, cysteine-rich domains: an insulin-like growth factor binding protein (IGFBP) domain, a von Willebrand type C repeat (vWC) domain, a thrombospondin type 1 repeat (TSR) domain, and a C-terminal domain (CT) containing a cysteine motif. CTGF plays an important role in many biological processes, including cell adhesion, migration, proliferation, angiogenesis, bone development, and tissue wound repair. Monitoring CTGF levels in serum can provide more detailed insights into some pathological conditions such as malignancies, diabetic nephropathy, retinopathy, fibrosis, arthritis, pancreatic cancer, and cardiovascular disease.
