CXCL10 Molecular Target Information Overview
CXCL10 molecular target review
Chemokine ligand 10 (CXCL10), also known as interferon-γ-induced protein 10 (IP-10) or micro-induced cytokine B10, is a small molecular weight cytokine belonging to the CXC chemokine family. IP-10 can be secreted by various types of cells in response to IFN-γ, including monocytes, endothelial cells, and fibroblasts. IP-10 has multiple functions, such as chemotaxis of monocytes/macrophages, T cells, NK cells, and dendritic cells, promotion of T cell adhesion to endothelial cells, anti-tumor activity, and inhibition of bone marrow colony formation and angiogenesis.

Mouse Cxcl10 target molecular function (prediction)
Predicted to enable chemoattractant activity; chemokine receptor binding activity; and heparin binding activity. Acts upstream of or within several processes, including defense response to virus; negative regulation of myoblast differentiation; and negative regulation of myoblast fusion. Located in external side of plasma membrane and extracellular space. Is expressed in several structures, including alimentary system; axial skeleton; hemolymphoid system; and liver. Human ortholog(s) of this gene implicated in hepatitis B; middle cerebral artery infarction; and type 1 diabetes mellitus. Orthologous to human CXCL10 (CXC motif chemokine ligand 10).
