  • Gene family:CD molecules; Immunoglobulin like domain containing

  • Overview of FCGR3B molecular targets

CD16 is a cell membrane protein with a glycosylated phosphatidylinositol anchor chain and a component of the low-affinity Fcγ receptor (FcγRIII). It includes two subtypes, CD16a and CD16b, which have slight structural differences. CD16 is expressed in NK cells (only in mature NK cells, not in NK precursors and immature NK cells), some T lymphocytes, neutrophils and macrophages.
