ITGA2 molecular target information overview
ITGA2 molecular targets review
CD49b, also known as integrin α2, is a 150 kD membrane surface glycoprotein. CD49b (integrin α2) non-covalently binds to CD29 (integrin β1) to form a heterodimer VLA-2, platelet glycoprotein Ia/IIa (CD49b/CD29), which mediates the adhesion between mature megakaryocytes and platelets and collagen. CD49b is expressed on platelets, intestinal epithelial cells, NK cells, epithelial cells, and activated T cells, and plays an important role in mediating cell adhesion to the extracellular matrix.
