IL7R molecular target information overview

  • Molecular name: IL7R, interleukin 7 receptor
  • Gene family: CD molecules; Fibronectin type III domain containing; Interleukin receptors
  • Alias: CD127; IL7RA

  • Overview of IL7R molecular targets

CD127 is the alpha chain of the interleukin 7 receptor, and together with CD132 (beta chain) forms a high-affinity receptor. CD127 is expressed in most T cells, but can be reduced after T cell activation. It is also expressed in B cell precursors and monocytes. The expression of CD127 plays an important role in the maturation, maintenance and immune response of T lymphocytes.

Human IL7R target molecular function (prediction)

Enables cytokine receptor activity. Involved in positive regulation of cell population proliferation and positive regulation of receptor signaling pathway via STAT. Located in cytosol; nucleoplasm; and plasma membrane. Implicated in severe combined immunodeficiency and severe combined immunodeficiency, autosomal recessive, T cell-negative, B cell-positive, Nk cell-positive.

Mouse Il7r target molecular function (prediction)

Predicted to enable cytokine receptor activity. Involved in defense response to Gram-positive bacterium. Acts upstream of or within several processes, including hematopoietic or lymphoid organ development; negative regulation of T cell mediated cytotoxicity; and positive regulation of T cell differentiation in thymus. Located in external side of plasma membrane. Is expressed in adrenal gland; brain; early conceptus; hemolymphoid system; and lymphatic system. Human ortholog(s) of this gene implicated in severe combined immunodeficiency and severe combined immunodeficiency, autosomal recessive, T cell-negative, B cell-positive, Nk cell-positive. Orthologous to human IL7R (interleukin 7 receptor).
