    CD161, also known as NKR-P1, CD161a/CD161b, NKP-P1a/KLRB1a, belongs to the C-type lectin superfamily. It is normally expressed in most NK cells (mature and immature, pre-NK), a small number of T cells and a small number of thymocytes. It is abnormally expressed in aggressive and nasal NK cell leukemia/lymphoma, but not in primitive NK cell leukemia and lymphoma.
