Use at an assay-dependent concentration. For Sandwich ELISA pairing: Rat IFN gamma Antibody(Detector) (EPA1739D), with Rat IFN gamma Protein (EPA1739S) as assay standards. The reference range value is 156.25-10,000 pg/mL.
Target info
Function
Interferon gamma (IFN-gamma, type II interferon), encoded by the rat Ifng gene. It is a secreted homodimeric glycoprotein produced by activated CD4+ Th1 lymphocytes, CD8+ T cells, NK cells, and innate lymphoid cells upon stimulation by IL-12, IL-18, or antigen. Rat IFN-gamma binds the IFNGR1/IFNGR2 receptor complex on target cells, recruiting JAK1 and JAK2, which phosphorylate STAT1. STAT1 homodimers translocate to the nucleus, bind GAS promoter elements, and induce MHC class I and II molecules, co-stimulatory ligands, inducible nitric oxide synthase, and chemokines. Rat IFN-gamma activates microbicidal and tumoricidal macrophage function, drives Th1 polarization, enhances antigen presentation, suppresses Th17 differentiation, and exhibits antiviral and antiproliferative activity. Subcellular location: secreted soluble homodimer in extracellular space and biological fluids.
