Connective tissue, in the narrow sense, is defined by its three fiber types: collagen fibers, reticular fibers, and elastic fibers. Among them, collagen fibers are the most widely distributed and the most abundant.
Weigert's Iron Hematoxylin Staining Solution is a strongly staining solution composed of hematoxylin and ferric chloride. It is prepared fresh by mixing immediately before use, and is mainly used for connective tissue staining, such as in Masson’s trichrome staining, Van Gieson staining, etc.
